Verticillium chlamydosporium can be effectively used against Nematode attack on a variety of
plants. This is an eco-friendly pesticide free from any residual toxic effect.
Mode of Action:- Verticillium chlamydosporium effectively controls plant parasitic nematodes
specifically root-knot nematodes infecting Brinjal, tomato, chilli, carrot and okra crop.
Crops: – Tomato, Brinjal, Chilli, Okra, Carrot, Wheat, Citrus and Tea.
Benefits: – It is effective against nematode (Meloidogyne spp.), Reniform nematode
(Rotylenchulus spp.), Citrus nematode.
Application:- Verticillium chlamydosporium can be used in soil and can also be used as foliar
spray against nematode.
Soil Treatment:- About 1.5 kg of Verticillium chlamydosporium is to be mixed with 10-15 kg of
Organic manure and applied over a bigha of land where plants are line sown. Otherwise about 2
kg of Verticillium chlamydosporium should be spread and ploughed before sowing. At later
stage of nematode infection, Verticillium chlamydosporium at concentration of 5gm/liter of
water should be sprayed on plants. In case of serious root infection the collar region of the
standing crop may be drenched properly with a mixture of 5 gm Verticillium chlamydosporium
and 5 gm Panther-TV per 1 liter of water.
Verticillium chlamydosporium is available as fine powder with minimum count of 2×106 cfu/gm.
Precaution:- i) The product should be used before expiry.
ii) It should be kept in a dark, fairly cool place away from sunlight.
